The Voiceless Media can confirm that  Hajia Abdul- Aziz Fatahiya of the Office of the President and Hon  Abdul- Samad Muhammad Gunu (Former MP of Savelugu ) will be contesting the NPP primaries in the Savelugu constituency when nominations are opened. 

Whilst Fatahiyia sees her intention to contest as another way to be of service to her constituents, Hon Gunu on his part thinks he has an  unfinished business in the Savelugu constituency and needs the mandate of the people to continue. 

The Savelugu constituency in the past had Hajia  Mary Salifu  Boforo as the MP and was seen to be an inspiration to women. 

 It is unclear whether Hajia Fatahia is partly motivated by the exploits of Hajia Boforo in the past. 

Hon Gunu on his part has contest every NPP Parliamentary primaries since 2000 in the Savelugu constituency and first  won  the Savelugu seat for the NPP in the 2016 elections. 

It is left to be seen how the Parliamentary primaries will play out in the Savelugu constituency but whosoever wins the primaries would need the other person  if the NPP is to recapture  the seat again from the NDC.
