I have read a piece on your Facebook page where you sought to ask Musah Superior some questions in an attempt to soil his public image.
You, first of all, suggested that Musah Superior should render an unqualified apology to Kwabena Agei Agyapong, which is unfounded.
The events that led to the former General Secretary's suspension are of public knowledge. The National Executive Committee of the NPP acted based on findings of the party’s Disciplinary Committee and suspended Kwabena Agyepong, Paul Afoko, the then National Chairman and Sammy Crabbe, the then 2nd Vice Chairman on December 10 2015. A host of NPP members, including Musah Superior, were given attention in the interest of the NPP, which led to the indefinite suspension of the three.
We need not revisit the issues on Kwabena Agyepong's suspension which will definately reintroduce conversation around the reasons why Musah Superior resigned as his special Assistant. It doesn’t favour the former General Secretary. Engineer Agyepong has, in recent years, played an admirable role in NPP internal politics. In the just concluded elections campaign, he campaigned side-by-side with our flagbearer after participating in the Presidential Primaries that saw DMB’s election as flagbearer. Also, his commendable comeback in NPP politics has even made many, recently, calling for his consideration for the National Chairman of NPP. The past is the past, and at this point, we are focused on restoring the lost glory of the NPP.
Secondly, you are concerned that Musah Superior was a part of President Akufo-Addo's government. In the President's first term, as Mayor of Tamale, and currently the deputy CEO of Forestry Commission.
As a mayor of Tamale, Musah Superior will be forever missed. His resolve for a disciplined Tamale and his 'Poltical Surgery' through which he attended to party peoples’ concerns are greatly missed in Tamale. Of course, he couldn't have met all the expectations of the people, but it is a widely known fact that Musah Superior is one of the most spectacular people who've ever occupied the political office of Mayor in the Tamale city. Also, notwithstanding the countrywide rejection of NPP in the last election, one would be interested to know the performance of NPP in the 2020 General elections in the two Tamale Constituencies as compared to our performance in the last elections. In that, Musah Superior will be given his flowers.
Last but not least, you remarked that, Musah Superior's post-mortem critiques of the NPP NEC and calling out Akufo-Addo for the downfall of NPP in the December 2024 elections as "too little, too late" and have mentioned that he was silent when the oligarchy worked in his favour, and thus, have forfeited the right to criticize it now. Your readers know that this is very untrue, and I will bring your attention to the following:
On the 26th of July, 2022, Musah Superior demanded publicly that NABCO recruits, Teacher and Nursing allowances, Forest Guards should be paid their arrears fully and called on the government to empower party people meaningfully to make a strong case for our victory in December 2024 elections.
On the 25th July, 2022, when Gabby scornfully rebuffed Ghanaians with his “ it is as if a reshuffle will suddenly end the Ukraine war and bring down inflation and make the cedi stronger than the dollar” comment at a time many Ghanaians including NPP members and supporters were calling for a reshuffle, the only appointee who challenged him publicly was Musah Superior, to the admiration of all devides of our body politics.
In October 2023, Musah Superior publicly requested the flagbearer to insist that the government should pay the arrears of school feeding caterers, Youth In Afforestation, NABCO recruites, etc in full.
These are verifiable facts you can find on Musah Superior's Facebook page.
As l await your “return” as suggested in your piece, l want to say without hesitation that Musah Superior is strong, articulate, dedicated member and one of the few most outspoken persons in the party. His forthrightness and honesty is appreciated by many voiceless members of the party across the country.
