Yesterday, I joined the National Chief Imam, fellow Muslims and guests, including the Speaker of Parliament, for the opening of the 4th National Muslim Conference of Ghana (NMCG) in Accra.
The NMCG, established through the instrumentality of the Muslim Caucus in Parliament, brings together Muslims of different sects, and stakeholders, to deliberate on issues of development and national importance.
With this year's theme being on the role of the Muslim in bridging the gap in healthcare delivery, I reiterated our government’s commitment to expanding access to healthcare through major interventions, including the revival of the National Health Insurance Scheme, provision of ambulances to all constituencies, establishment of e-pharmacy and Zipline Medical Drone Delivery Service, and the construction of Agenda 111 health facilities in districts without hospitals.
I also urged all participants to continue to uphold the peace, unity and diversity of our country, especially, as we approach the 2024 election.
