Former President John Mahama is ridiculing himself in the Volta Region as he tours the NDC 'Former World Bank' in his attempt to become a president of Ghana again. What is Mr. John Mahama saying in Volta Region? 

Out of propaganda, political convenience and desperation, Mr. John Mahama is telling the good people of Volta Region that, the region receives development any time NDC is in power but NPP neglects them when it comes to power. He is seriously worried about the increasing number of votes of NPP in the Volta Region. In his attempt to mind game them, he is attributing the Voltarians' new love for the NPP to a claim that, NPP make them believe NDC have neglected them. Is it the case? The people of Volta Region are discerning and have seen the projects done by the Nana-Bawumia government.

It is even very interesting how Mr. John Mahama looks in the face of the chiefs and people of Volta Region and tells them that NPP has not brought development to them when last year, Nana-Bawumia government, for the first time in the history of Ghana, brought the 66th Independence Day Anniversary to Adaklu in the Volta Region. The Independence Day Celebration is not the issue in focus but the beautifully constructed 10,000-seater capacity multipurpose sports stadium by the Nana-Bawumia government, where the celebration took place. Mr. John Mahama, for the all-time loyalty the people of Volta Region have shown the NDC over the years, how many sports stadia did you construct more than NPP for the good people of Volta Region?

When Mr. Mahama says development comes to a halt in the Volta Region when the NPP is in power, I believe the people of Volta Region find it funny because of the massive development Nana-Bawumia government brought to them. The Nana-Bawumia government have constructed about six, if not more, new districts courts with furnished judges/magistrates bungalows including Ho High Court Complex in the Volta Region. The beneficiary districts/Municipalities include North Dayi (Vakpo), Afadjato South (Ve-Golokuati), Adaklu (Adaklu), North Tongu (Kluma) Districts, Ho and Ketu South Municipalities (Nogokpo).

It is obviously clear that Mr. John Mahama is in a political suicide mission in Volta Region. The Chiefs and people of Adaklu Waya, Agotime-Ziope and Central Tongu would not take it lightly if Mr. John Mahama tells them that NPP government have not done anything for them. The Adaklu Waya Water Project which was constructed by the Nana-Bawumia government, supplies portable water to about 89,150 people in 95 communities in the beneficiary districts. The phase four of the Five Districts Water Project include North Tongu and Ho West Districts. The residents in those beneficiary districts are grateful to the Nana-Bawumia government for the portable source of water they have provided them. Water, they say, is life. Is this the NPP propaganda the people of Volta Region are falling for, Mr. John Mahama? 

On the road sector, the Nana-Bawumia government have not neglected the people of Volta Region as Mr. John Mahama wants Voltarians to believe. Hohoe Municipality has seen 15km asphalt overlay. First ever tarred road in Adaklu district is 16-kilometer bituminous surfacing of Akweteh to Adaklu Waya road. This government have also constructed 70-meter steel bridge over the Galosota-Bomingo feeder road in the Anloga District and upgraded Klefe town roads in Ho Municipality. It has dualized the Ho main road (Civic Center-Sokode Gbogame) and the Ho-Sokode road. These are some examples of roads network in the Volta Region done by the NPP government. The Nana-Bawumia government have constructed a Railway Line from Akosombo to Juapong. The beneficiaries of these roads will not forgive Mr. John Mahama for saying that NPP neglected Volta Region in terms of development

Nana-Bawumia government care much more for the people of Volta Region. Out of the Eighteen (18) Districts/Municipalities in the Volta Region, Eight (8) Districts are currently benefiting from the agenda 111 hospitals project. How many District/Municipal hospitals did you build for the people of Volta Region, Mr. John Mahama? The Nana-Bawumia government can confidently point to Ghanaians the district hospitals being constructed in Adaklu Waya (Adaklu District), Ve-Golokwati (Afadjato South District), Kpetoe (Agotime-Ziope District), Ave-Dakpa (Akatsi North District), Dzolokpuita (Ho West District), Agortoe (Anloga District), Kpeve New Town (South Dayi District) and Adeheta (Akatsi South District). You will be amazed to know that the first district hospital for the people of Weta in the Ketu North District was constructed by Nana-Bawumia government in their first term in office. All are in the Volta Region. The NPP government is not doing any propaganda in Volta Region, just admit that NDC have failed the people of Volta Region despite their loyalty to the party over the years. The people of Volta Region say, enough is enough. They are falling for the development being done by the Nana-Bawumia government in the region but not falling for any NPP propaganda as Mr. John Mahama claims. These are not green book projects. 

Mr. John Mahama as you tour Volta Region, when you visit Ho and Hohoe Central Markets Complex, please do not ask them what the NPP government have done for the people of Volta Region, else you will embarrass yourself. Those beautiful edifices in the markets were not built by the NDC government but Nana-Bawumia government under the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Programme. How many markets complex did you build in Volta Region as President of Ghana, Mr. John Mahama? 

There are many projects executed by the Nana-Bawumia government in the Volta Region that are not captured in this article. The Chiefs and people of Volta Region appreciate good things, hence, their recent love for the NPP. 

In conclusion, Mr. John Mahama, you neglected the people of Volta Region when you were President of Ghana and NPP have come to their aid, so, do not blame your sinking popularity in Volta Region on any NPP propaganda. The work is on the grounds and they feel the projects executed or being executed by the Nana-Bawumia government. The alternative is still empty, scary and uninspiring.
