The Voiceless media is unable to confirm whether Hon Farouk Aliu Mahama will face any contest in the NPP  primaries in the  Yendi constituency when nominations are opened. 

The Yendi constituency Chairman of the NPP,  Alhaji Gazali is of the opinion that Hon Farouk Aliu Mahama should seek a second term mandate in unopposed capacity in view of the many developmental projects he has brought to the Yendi constituency since his election as a Member of Parliament.  

It is however not known  if this wish will see the light of day. 

The last constituency primaries of the NPP in Yendi was highly competitive with Hon Farouk Aliu Mahama eventually winning with less than 40 votes to beat Hajia Abibata Shanni Mahama Zakariah in a hotly contested primaries. 

Whilst some loyalists of Hajia Abibata Shanni Mahama Zakariah told the *Voiceless media* in Yendi that she should contest because she hasn't  stopped helping the constituents of Yendi in development initiatives especially youth empowerment in terms of permanent employment to various agencies and for that matter they believe she should contest too.

 The Masloc CEO  has not confirmed her participation in the primaries yet. 

When the  Voiceless media contacted  Hajia Abibata Shanni Mahama Zakariah before this story, she indicated that  she will make her decision public any time she decides. 

On his part, Alhaji Osman Baba Daney who participated in the last primaries in Yendi , has told the *Voiceless media* that he will not be contesting the Yendi NPP primaries this time. 

The National Council of the NPP  met on April, 3,  2023, and  issued guidelines and dates for the Parliamentary primaries in both its orphan and constituencies where the party has sitting MPs. 

It is believed that with the released of  the guidelines potential aspirants  would be attracted   to the Parliamentary primaries or will keep themselves  away.
