It was the 4th day of the eleventh month of the year 2023, say, 4th/11/2023. By the law of nature and expectations of being, Night has given way to daylight, the early morning chirpings of the  birds have subsided, making way for the early morning beauty of the sun to greet the nation and provide daylight for the duration of the elections, through its journey. Businesses were slowly opening, and journalists were hurriedly moving to posted constituencies to be able to catch up with anything of interest within the fold of the elections. Some delegates were already out with sachets of Haussa kokoo in their hands. 

The Great NPP was holding crucial internal elections to choose who rides on the back of the Great Elephant and lead the Great Party to Victory in the 2024 elections. Sellers and buyers will not bring to an end their business transaction without the mention of Bawumia and Ken. 

The contestants were 4 in number, but " Bawumia, Ken" were the most uttered words on the lips of the 30.8M Ghanaians on that historic day. 

It was a busy day for Journalists around the world and for everyone who has the New Patriotic Party at heart. Even those in opposition had a busy interest in the elections because their hearts were poundingly hitting their rib,  praying for the defeat of Dr. Alhaj Mahmud Bawumia.

Ghana was busy because the great NPP was busy.

I was the Digital agent for team DMB and at the same time observing the elections with keen interest from one of the most talked about Cconstituencies in the Greater Accra Region, specifically OKAIKWEI CENTRAL. 

My interest for this observation was carved mainly out of the fact of the perception amongst some of the high profile members of the party that Okaikoi Central Constituency was an "Allan Zone" therefore a no go area for Bawumia, this can be alluded to many known and unknown factors.

Okai Kwei Central Constituency became a constituency of interest because many thought it was going to be impossible  for Dr. Bawumia, especially when the exit of Hon. Alan  Kyeremanteng from the contest made room for Alan supporters to borrow a seat in  Hon Kennedy Ohene Agyapong's camp and add to the numbers. 

For the Godly interventional arrival of Alhaji Harruna Rafik as the 1st Vice Chair and later as the Campaign Cordinator for Team DMB in Okaikwei Central Constituency, Dr. Bawumia would have lost the elections without a trace.

 It was an uphill task, but not known to any soul, the team, led by Alhaji Harruna Rafik (the 1st Vice Chair, doubling as the Okaikwei Central Constituency campaign Cordinator for the Team had had their own plans and their own version of the narrative to be written. 

In a Constituency that has seen lots of pretence, lots of face hiding, hidden hands, with all those, if Alhaji Rafik and his able campaign team of willed, enthusiastic, focused young men and women were able to make the impossible POSSIBLE, changed misfortune into fortune, keep people wondering how the hell this is done within the shortest possible time, then we must say Alhaji Harruna Rafik has really shown bravery, loyalty and competence beyond any reasonable clarity. 

I have personally been with Alhaji Rafik from day 1 of the campaign days.

 The day Alhaji Harruna accepted to be the Campaign Cordinator, he knew the consequences but alas, he hit the grounds like every piece of his breath depends on it, he was working like a war zone donkey, the energy with which he accomplished his task was one of a conflagration during harmattan season. He worked as though tomorrow would never come. Sometimes, I looked at him and pitied him, I considered his situation as one of a blind lepper who was tasked to climb an iroko tree. Finally, he made the impossible POSSIBL  and made Okaikoi Central Constituency  walk shoulders high. 

In a nutshell, from my observation and analytical analysis, if these Primaries were conducted some 2 years ago, Dr. Alhaj Mahmud Bawumia (A.K.A. KOWA NASO) would have lost the elections in Okaikwei Central without a trace. But, the Sleepless nights, restless hours and sacrifices made by Alhaji Harruna Rafik and his able team, have changed the narrative and created a brand new chapter in Okaikwei Central Constituency, where everyone can say "I am part". 

I was particularly enthused with Alhaji's call  for all factions in the just ended contest to unite and rally behind H.E. Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, the new flagbearer to enable the NPP, break the 8. He also admonished his team members and the general supporters alike to celebrate their victory in modesty.

Alhaji Harruna Rafik, Team DMB in Okaikwei Central, says thank you for the unwaring dedication, strong leadership you have shown, and sacrifices you have made throughout the campaign. Your strategic vision and tireless efforts for Team DMB in the Constituency and beyond have led us to an "unexpected" victory. We are proud, and we are grateful for your commitment to serving our constituency. We look forward to the positive measures you will add to this, come election 2024 as you continue to lead with integrity.
