The National Executive Committee of the New Patriotic Party yesterday met to bring finality to the election calendar for Presidential and Parliamentary primaries and the party prepares to break the 8 years political circle of NPP/NDC. This decision of the party has officially given green light to people who are interested in leading the party to official announce their intentions to the good people of the party.

The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia yesterday on his official Facebook page announced his intention to contest for the Presidential primaries when nominations are opened in what has been described as bold and optimistic statement.

The Vice President wrote, *" It is Possible"* with the Ghana flag and the flag of the New Patriotic Party.

The Vice President's declaration comes at a time his main contender , Alan kyeremanten has given  a pessimistic statement on the chances of the party.  In the words of Alan kyeremanten he stated that, *the worsening economic conditions under Nana Akufo Addo is it difficult for the New Patriotic Party to craft a winnable message for 2024 election*

In making a comparative analysis of the unfortunate statement of Alan kyeremanten and the optimistic declaration of the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia I am by this write up asking a very simple question which of these two statements can delegates rely on in the party's bid  to break the eight (8)?.

To help delegates with the answer to my question I would like to ponder on the attributes of an optimistic leader and a pessimistic leader.

Our party has really done a lot in it's two years in government the evidence are all over the country from roads to infrastructure to employments to empowerment and so on. We can not let the global economic hitches to downplay the achievements of the party in this regard we need an optimistic leader , a leader who inspires , a leader who is bold, a confident leader who sees challenges as temporal and has the will power to turn this around.

*It is indeed possible and if delegates really think it  is possible then we need  the Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia to make it possible*

Delegates should choose  optimism over pessimism.

*Yes it is possible let us make it possible*
