The contest ended with the former defeating the latter by 46 votes. Lawyer Hamid also picked nomination form to contest for the second consecutive time but Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal; Minister. for tourism through diplomacy persuaded lawyer Hamid to stand down so we can have a compromise Parliamentary candidate. In Dr. Awal’s view, having a compromise candidate will help us secure the seat for New Patriotic Party.
