In 1995, Chief Akilu Sayibu was part of a Team of Temporary Election Officers of  the Electoral Commission who compiled the voters register for the Tolon Constituency towards the 1996 elections.  He was stationed at the then  Cheshegu/ Dabogushie communities of the then Tolon Kunbungu District.   He worked as the Registration, Exhibition and Election officer in the  Dabogushie/Cheshegu Electoral Area and first voted in the Tolon Constituency in the 1996 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.   This is yet another evidence of the involvement of Chief Akilu Sayibu in the politics of the Tolon Constituency some 27 years ago.  Chief Akilu Sayibu remains the best bet for the Tolon Constituency.
