Alan mentioned the names of two US former Presidents; George Washington and Abraham Lincoln during his Press Conference yesterday. But he failed to mention the name of a more recent and relatable example – Joseph Robinette Biden.
Over four decades, Joe Biden sought the U.S. Presidency. He declared for the U.S. Presidential race seven times in his career, contested the primaries on three occasions and won the nomination once.
• 1980 at the age of 38 - Cancelled plans to file Nomination.
• 1984 at the age of 42 - Dropped out before Iowa Caucus
• 1988 at the age of 46 - Dropped out Midway in the Primaries and endorsed Dukakis.
• 1992 at the age of 50 - Dropped out before Iowa Caucus
• 2004 at the age of 62 - Cancelled Plans to File Nomination
• 2008 at the age of 66 - Dropped out after Iowa Caucus and Endorsed Obama
• 2020 at the age of 78 - Won the Primaries, Won the Presidency
He served as Vice President to a man almost 20 years his junior. In life, timing and patience is everything. Even as children, our parents taught us NEVER TO QUIT.
I feel extremely disappointed that Alan left the Party in the lurch. It is not a PLEASANT decision. It is self-destructive!
Let all of us be resolute in these onerous times and keep faith with the party. Our resolve to win 2024 must be unwavering at all times under any circumstance.
