Impeccable  and dependable information available to the Voiceless Media points to the Mayor of Tamale, Hon Salifu  Sule contesting the NPP Parliamentary primaries in the Tamale Central constituency when nominations are opened. 

Hon Salifu Sule is a popular figure in the politics of the NPP in Tamale Central and the Northern region. 

He was the TESCON President of the NPP at the Tamale Technical University and once served as the Northern Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party. 

He was the Northern Regional Communications officer of the NPP prior to his appointment as the  Mayor of Tamale and was a Foundation Member of the Northern region communication team of the NPP which was known as PRIM over two decades ago. 

Mayor Salifu Sule was also the Northern Regional Monitoring officer  of the Ghana School Feeding Programme and also once served as the Northern Regional Director of the Youth Employment Agency. 

He also previously worked with the Judicial Service of Ghana.

Hon Salifu Sule has a good working relationship with the youth, women groups, chiefs, the Tamale Central NPP,  Religious leaders amongst others  and this presents him in a good stead for the Tamale Central seat.
