It has come to the attention of the hardworking, humble and reputable Upper East Regional  Minister of a malicious and false publication by "Media Without Borders" an online media outlet to the effect that the above ill-intentioned statement was made by him regarding Northerners. 

First and foremost, the Regional Minister himself is an unalloyed and inborn Northerner who is committed to the socio-economic development of the  Upper East Region and the North at large and will not make such a statement. 

Lastly, the UER Minister would like to admonish all well-meaning media stations in the region to be interested in the overall development of the region and eschew trivialities and things that have the tendencies to divide  and retard  growth.

The media should at all times exercise professionalism, report the truth, be partners in development and avoid the temptations of falling prey to  individuals who, for their personal parochial interest, induce them to witch-hunt and  misreport.

This particular online media is advised to advocate for development to  Upper East Region instead of trying at all cost to throw mud at politicians, especially Regional Ministers of Upper East Region as it is the habit. 

Hon Stephen Yakubu humbly calls upon all the good people of Upper East and Northerners to disregard the claim and persist in their unflinching support to him towards the development of the region.
