The Voiceless media in partnership with Professor Habib Iddrisu, a professor of Ethnomusicology  and Dance  at the  University of Oregon  are to honour some music , governance and media personalities from the Northern Region who have for periods ranging between two to four  decades contributed to the evolution, popularization and  inspiration to many in their various fields of endeavours. 

Those to be awarded and recognized include Mma Fuseina, who for four decades worked at the Tamale Arts and Culture Center, during which period she mentored many in the arts, music, and dance fraternities in Tamale. She is now retired and lives in Tamale. 

Chief Adam Cockra is another personality who will receive this award. He was among the early journalists in the northern region, dating back more than 40 years. He served as a director of the Northern and Upper East regions of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation  until his retirement over a decade ago. He has been a great media personality in his time and still mentors upcoming media practitioners to this date.  Others to receive awards are Ahmed Adams popularly known in  Showbiz as Mr Razak,  Abdul- Rashid also known as Kawastone,  Madam Sirina Issah and Alhaji Abdulai Yahaya popularly known as Alhaji Abdulai Chairman ( First DCE of Tamale). 

The awards will come with voiceless media citations and cash. In some instances medical care insurance would be secured for some of the awardees. 

Professor Habib Iddrisu who is behind the awards says it is his small way of contributing to the development of the  Arts, governance,  media, music and dance. Professor Habib and the Voiceless media are of the believe that our heroes should never be forgotten. 

They deserve some recognition no matter how small.
